Governor of Mangistau region Yeraly Tugzhanov held a meeting on preparations for EXPO-2017, Governor’s Office of the region reported.

“The very fact of holding EXPO-2017 demonstrates the authority of Kazakhstan on the world stage. The exhibition is an indicator of the development of our country and region, a guarantee of prosperity in the future. The Head of State noted that only competitive countries are able to keep pace with the times. This is our task. It is necessary to develop common approaches for the state bodies, the non-governmental sector, civil society institutions, we all must participate in the processes”, Ye. Tugzhanov stressed.

According to the regional tourism department, to date, 14 regional enterprises have confirmed their participation in EXPO-2017 at their own expense. 100 volunteers from Mangistau region were selected to ensure a comfortable stay of the guests. The local tourist companies purchased 12 thousand tickets for EXPO. The EXPO ticket office was opened in Aktau. The memorandum was concluded between Governor’s Office of Mangistau region and the tour operator “Sky Way” to attract residents of Mangistau region to the exhibition.

“Mangistau region has a quota of 65,000 people, that is, almost 10% of region’s population. Of them, 13,700 are schoolchildren and college students. At the expense of the local budget funds, 1,750 children from low-income families, 378 cultural workers and 50 volunteers will be financed. The main social and age categories of visitors from Mangistau region are socially vulnerable segments of the population, disabled people, pensioners”, head of the regional tourism department Gulzhan Baizhunova said.

The Governor of Mangistau region instructed to allocate funds from the regional budget to purchase the tickets for socially vulnerable segments of the population.

For comfortable delivery of Mangistau residents to Astana two passenger trains “Talgo” will be launched from June 1, and from July 1 – another additional train. Up to 600 people are planned to be sent daily.

“Child safety is the number one task for us. I entrust during the week to prepare a list of residents who will go to the exhibition. It is also necessary to indicate the names and contacts of people accompanying the schoolchildren. Then it is necessary to apply for the redemption of tickets to “Passenger transportation”. As for the health of the residents, in Astana it is necessary to organize a medical center, where they can go in case of something for help”, Ye. Tugzhanov instructed.
Within the framework of the international exhibition EXPO on August 15-18 Astana will hold tha Days of Mangistau region.

“65 thousand people will go to the exhibition, it is almost 700 thousand Mangistau residents. We all cannot go, so I entrust organizing a cultural program for the residents before EXPO, and also invite some of the artists to the region. For example, a concert by Dimash Kudaibergenov, thanks to whom the whole world heard kyu Aday. I also instruct you to consider the possibility of visiting Mangistau region by tourists and business delegations participating in the international exhibition”, Ye. Tugzhanov concluded.
