Benefits of Silk Way presented in Seoul

The benefits and development of continental transportation route of the Silk Way through the Lianyungang port in China and dry port SEZ “Khorgos – Eastern Gate” discussed in Seoul.


The presentation was held by representatives of the logistics department of the group of companies “NC “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy” JSC with the participation of heads of the joint Kazakh-Chinese terminal at the Lianyungang port, vice president of logistics and containerization of the seaport administration Zhang Ziyang, as well as specialists of the DP World company.

The event was attended by representatives of the South Korean community: the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs, corporations railways – KORAIL, HYUNDAI, KIA Motors, LG, Lotte, SJ Logistics Group and other major engineering, trade and logistics companies, the press-service of “NC “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy” JSC reported.

Exporters and representatives of the logistics business informed on the competitive advantages and prospects of transport involving the logistics system of Kazakhstan and its partners on the New Silk Way route.

“Kazakh-Chinese terminal at the Lianyungang port, transport and logistics infrastructure of FEZ “Khorgos – Eastern Gate” represented as freight traffic consolidation centers for the organization of supply chains, linking the major poles of the world economy in Eurasia through the territory of Kazakhstan”, – Executive Director of «KTZ Express» JSC Sergey Anashkin told.

Participants expressed an interest in promoting their products to markets in Europe, Turkey, Iran and Central Asia, using the logistics capabilities of the Silk Road through the logistics infrastructure of Kazakhstan and China.

In addition, the seminar included bilateral talks, during which the parties agreed to the elaboration and development of logistics service on the route.

Kazakhstan has experience in organization of container trains from Lianyungang terminal in Europe, Turkey and Central Asia, in this regard, the issue of regular active land/container lines and marketing of global partnerships to attract cargo, including Japan, Vietnam and Malaysia.
