Press release Work of the Ecology Commission of the Ministry of Energy Public Council
October 18, 2016 following issues was considered by Ecology Commission within the framework of the Work Plan of the Public Council for Energy and Environment:
- The problems and the necessary measures to improve the ecological status of the Caspian Sea Kazakhstan sector and adjacent coastal areas, including areas where there is a conflict of interest of the conservation of biological resources, environment and natural resources, in accordance with international requirements.
After hearing the report of the member of Ecology Commission N.P.Ogar, independent expert, environmentalist ichthyologist and marine research in BMSC A.I.Shustov, Deputy Chairman of Committee of ecological regulation and control of ME RK Z.S.Alieva, Deputy Director of the Department of International Co-operation and economic integration processes of ME RK B.D.Kerey and director of environmental monitoring department of RSE on PVC “Kazgidromet” D.K. Alimbaeva.
It was announced the major environmental problems of the Caspian Sea and the possible effects on the environment, the problem of legislative and organizational measures.
The problems of creating unified information on the results of the environmental monitoring system.
After a discussion of reports relevant units were informed with recommendations on the further elaboration of the raised issues.
- On the activities of the Ministry of Energy on the implementation of sustainable development goals (SDG).
Report of the Ministry, represented by the Deputy Director of the Department of International Co-operation and economic integration processes B.D. Kerey.
It was noted that further alignment of work with international organizations on supervised matters to achieve the SDG.
- On November 2016, Conference planned in the Majilis and after the conference work will continue.
